my intent with this project was to depict myself: Davis, The Dorchester Bully, The Stony Island Stalker, Dirty D or whatever other gambino/alter ego i bestowed upon myself or was given to me by another. to take a deep look into the mirror (physical or metaphorical) and to paint the reflection. to ask myself who i am, where do i come from, what makes me the artist that i am in this current moment and what those pieces mean going forward. this project is an amalgamation of all the answers i could ideate presented to you. there is reflection, there is joy, there is pain but most importantly there is honesty; the tool most useful to an artist. i hope you enjoy what i have painted for you.
